Dukal Builds Game Spot at Camp A.N.C.H.O.R

Through philanthropic partnerships, Dukal drives programming for community giving, social impact, and other initiatives in health, the environment, animals, children, and veterans.

Founded in 1968, Camp A.N.C.H.O.R (Answering the Needs of Citizens with Handicaps through Organized Recreation), a comprehensive year-round program that serves thousands of children and adults with special needs, is Dukal's longest philanthropic partner. When Donna and Gerry's son was 6-years old, a camp director asked if they had heard about the Camp A.N.C.H.O.R. program at Lido Beach - this would go on to be a life-changing conversation.

Described as "the best place on earth," camp participants ages five and up enjoy an array of athletic, aquatic, and cultural programs, as well as field trips and special events. Some activities are sports, arts & crafts, home economics, drama, ocean, pool, clubs, dance, music, equine therapy, and surfing.

"It is a world where everyone is normal, and new friends are made every day."

What makes Camp A.N.C.H.O.R a truly unique place, is it relies solely on volunteers and donors throughout the community. And participants can never age out of the program, with many attending from a young age well into their later adulthood.

In 2021, Dukal assisted in building a brand-new Game Spot on the Lido Beach campus. The Game Spot features large yard games like Connect Four, Jenga, corn hole and Kan Jam. We believe enhancing family and community health is the way to a better future, and we are proud to support the programs available at Camp A.N.C.H.O.R.
